Back in the day, the Beatles were all the rage. I had the red best hits, the blue best hits. More I listen, the less I liked them, to be honest. Now, they have maybe a half dozen songs that resonate with me. This is one: https://youtu.be/WpYT9NhU_ds Baby's good to me, you knowShe's happy as … Continue reading Best Beatles Song

While I was writing about speeches, I hit replay 5-6 times like a mental patient: https://youtu.be/Nawra9ahHP0 For some reason I like this version. Old dude crushing it.Notice the ancient Martin he's playing. I watched a special on him where he was adding water to a humidifier to keep his collection fed. Keep the tone. Bluegrass Saturday
My homebois. These dudes all had real jobs, but played bluegrass. I loved watching them. And I love bluegrass. And why not? As long as you can holler in tune and you got it. It's like blues in a way. https://youtu.be/U2FB54DOldo What they are saying: Was in the spring, one sunny dayMy sweetheart left me, … Continue reading Bluegrass Saturday

Why Johnny Can’t Play
Stacy McCain had a piece up on music that really resonated with me about the Band "Chicago" music back in the day. I love music. All kinds. I play music - both guitar and bass, and have for decades. I'm good at it. Not great, but competent. By the way, a lot of friends that … Continue reading Why Johnny Can’t Play

An oldie... https://youtu.be/mTqTE7aNjZQ Sure. Lip Syncing no doubt. https://youtu.be/vOQGNzCq0l0 Old dude making it happen. They couldn't dream of lyrics like this today: There's a port on a western bayAnd it serves a hundred ships a dayLonely sailors pass the time awayAnd talk about their homesAnd there's a girl in this harbor townAnd she works layin' … Continue reading Sunday Music
