Man sells all to travel 1200 miles to discover the love of his life is actually an AI character. She (it?) was apparently portrayed as as “a wealthy farmer searching for a husband, featuring videos of an idyllic countryside lifestyle and promises of romance, financial security and a comfortable home.”
DOH!
Gotta admit, she’s pretty hot.

He, however, looks a mess.
I sort of feel for the dude. I get it. We can get lonely and go for those hail mary passes. That’s a bit much though. When I first glanced over this, I got the impression that the AI agent was having conversations with him. Nope. He just got infatuated and went for it. There are actual better scams running. I get them from time to time. I went through a few hot asian chicks that were probably dudes or bots texting for someone else then wanting to know about me. On some level, I guess it works. There was one woman that got busted around here a few years back for using the dating sites to scam poor old dudes like this one here.
But there are a few easy tests to avoid this kind of thing.
First, actually talk. If she’s not giving you her digits and answers the phone, it’s bullshit. Real women want will want to talk. Second, get a visual IRL. She doesn’t want to meet? Next! Hell, I learned about this back in high school where we’d spend a lot of computer science class chatting with girls (which mostly were) on the mainframe. I met two of them. I was disappointed, to say the least. But I talked with them on the phone and got a visual. I was out nothing more than a movie ticket.
Third is actual common sense. Hot women have options. If you look like that – big beer gut and all, you aren’t one of them, unless you’re drowning in cash. I read a few great pieces on the manosphere interwebs back in the day telling the passport bros that it wasn’t like they thought it will be. One in the Philippines flat out said that hot filipinas have options and aren’t going to get on the back of a bike with your 53 year old fat ass and bald head. With the ones that would, it’s transactional. Get real. Dude that writes the Come and Make It blog is an expat that posts on this from time to time.
The other was in Japan. That piece was more interesting. It said if you are fit and in decent shape you may have a chance because of a curiosity factor, but not understanding the culture and treating her like an American woman, you’d more than likely blow it.
That wasn’t the case here. This appears to be just a poor dude that didn’t understand how the new field is striped. That’s a hard lesson. Shame they are putting the poor dude out there like that, but it is instructive.
Basically, if it looks too good to be true, it probably isn’t.
This sad situation reminds me of a meme that is something similar to what I’ve said for some time:

Indeed.
The way I worded this, when asked before finding it, was that if God decides a woman is necessary for your salvation, he’ll put one in front of you. Then all you have to do is man-up and ask. Otherwise, like it says, level up. Do things that make you interesting. Pursue your own interests. I got that concept from Roosh, of all people, from his book “American Pilgrim”. That book, and Roosh, appear to have mostly vanished.
I can say that at my age, I see getting thirsty and trying to meet women as looking for trouble. The good ones are few and far between. The women in their 50s and up that detonated their marriages when the nest went empty are legion in this area. All of them I met, no exception, are iterations of Herself the Ex that I want nothing to with whatsoever.
I’m blessed to have the woman I have. She was the one that stood out.
