Karmelo Anthony was found guilty.
Of course he was.
He did it. He admitted to doing it. A conga line of 21 witnesses, a handful of them black, said he did it. Their stories (all similar) told a far different tale than the one the rabble outside was telling. Even the witnesses supposedly on his side said he was in the wrong. It was a clear cut case.
Dude wasn’t where he was supposed to be – in an opposing team’s tent, which is like hanging in their dugout or locker room. He was asked to leave over a dozen times. Why you would want to stay where you aren’t wanted is beyond me. He and Austin Metcalf have words. Some of those were Austin saying he didn’t want to fight him. There’s barely a scuffle and Anthony stabs him. The video shown, while grainy, corroborated this, disproving the gang of football players had him in a headlock, or touched him in any way.
This quote really resonates with me:
Not only has Anthony himself displayed a total lack of repentance and shameless confidence throughout, but his family also defended him without showing any remorse either, and thousands of deranged leftists fundraised for the wealthy family. In fact, after the stabbing, the Anthony family moved into a new house worth almost $1 million and purchased a new vehicle, partly using the money they raised online. Anthony’s high school even rewarded him with a diploma.-Catherine Salgado on PJ Media
After she sat there during the whole thing, indifferent, as she always was, to others suffering because of her son’s action, during the punishment phase, his mom testified, crying, that of course he’s a good boy and pleaded for the jury to be lenient. None of their tears – her’s or her son’s were for any sort of remorse or contrition. They were crying because the butcher’s bill was finally due.
The judge was lenient. He got 35 years. A just verdict would’ve been life. Only his age at the time he murdered Austin saved him from the death penalty being put in play.
Of course that wasn’t good enough for the rabble and paid activists outside. They conjured a tall tale at the beginning of this thing, which only got taller as time went on. It was a tale that no one told in front of the jury. These fools were duped. They donated a crap-ton of money, and Anthony and his clan blew it on a new house and cars. Spent what of it they could. His slip and fall lawyer left. No money there, besides the dude was cooked. So he had to get a public defender. I didn’t see Benjamin Crump or Al Sharpton post. Did you? Now, the rabble is bitching his lawyer was no good.
Well, first, don’t blow all the cash that was gifted you for legal help on bullshit, then you can get a good lawyer. And second, the lawyer did his job. This was a losing effort which I’m sure that somewhere along the lines the thug wannabe was advised to plead. But they believed the bullshit, went for it, and came up short. I wonder if the rabble will give Anthony’s clan more walking around money to blow instead of spending it on an appeal? The lawyer I heard on the radio box today said they’d appeal, but it would go nowhere in Texas. They rarely do. What’ll be appealed? No blacks on the jury? They were polled, all of them disqualified themselves. And by the way, no matter what the rabble says, it wasn’t an all white jury. It was a decent sampling of the Collin county population – White, Asian, Hispanic, and Indian.
For what it’s worth, I’m bothered by two things.
First is the rabble. This dude was no hero. He, a well off kid, stabbed another kid in cold blood, in an affluent city, in front of over twenty witnesses. This is what justice, more than fair, looks like. I think it’s appalling how they badgered the poor Metcalf family. All of them just like the failed mother of Karmelo Anthony, indifferent, even gleeful, at the murder of an innocent son. And even now, they are immune to logic and reason. A black kid wasn’t cut loose for murder, so there’s no justice? There aren’t enough black criminal psychopaths running the streets for ya?
One of the black youtubers I used to watch went on a riff about how what the thug wannabe did didn’t fit the precise definition of murder or manslaughter in Texas. I agree with it not being manslaughter. It wasn’t an unintentional thing. His point was that murder needed premeditation. Guess what, chief, bringing a deadly weapon to a school meet (The law sees it same as a gun in these matters), provoking the fight with your hand on the weapon is in fact, premeditation. At least to me. By the way, there’s a lot of defense sites I read that if you use a weapon, the fact that you had it on you can be construed as you planned to use it. Premeditation. That’s why the self defense rules are so tight.
But the best was the gordita woman hollering “This is a rayciss ass city and a rayciss ass country”.
Really? Collin county in general, and Frisco/McKinney in particular is not racist whatsoever. Many well-to-do blacks live there. It has nice, safe neighborhoods and great schools all near high paying corporate campuses. It is the number one destination for the locust transplants. Tell you what, go to Africa. You want to live around all blacks? Get black justice? Go there. They will hate your guts worse than anyone here. Africans don’t like loudmouth entitled Americans even if they share the same skin tone. Probably, they like them even less. Many such cases seen on youtube.
The second thing that’s sad and disturbing is Karmelo Anthony and his whole family’s indifference to what he did. They played it up for as much cash and sympathy as they could grab. He took a life for nothing more than bullshit pride, with zero remorse or contrition. His family shows not one bit of shame in this fact.
A little truth and contrition from them would’ve gone a long way to calming emotions and not creating such racial hysteria.
It’s a sad sorry saga that I’m glad is over. I”m guessing his canonization won’t happen and the rabble will lose interest. That’s best case. We won’t learn anything after this. If we do it’ll be as an aside. He’s headed off to one of the fine Texas Penitentiary establishments.
He won’t be a hero there. He won’t get much sympathy from the brothers, I’m guessing. His family will load up his commissary account and so he’ll be someone’s punk. Don’t think the indigenous population in the penitentiary don’t know about all that gofundme money.
