What Could it Be?

Take a look at this. Whad’der yer suppose it is?

Coffee Bean? Nope.

Rock? Nope.

Seed? Nope.

Maybe some size comparison?

That there is a grade A, 100% locally made, organic Kidney Stone.

Came out by surprise this morning. It happens. I must have decent pipes in the manly hydraulics. I only feel them a little. It’s the funny feel and the splash the thing makes that makes me take notice. That’s a big-un too.

My first one hurt like hell. The second one, I had a bit of a vague back ache one morning. Then the pain kicked in more serious, so I laid down before my doctor appointment. When I got up to go, I took a whiz and the damn thing came out. I stood their staring at it wondering if I should cancel my appointment. I went anyway.

So they did some tests – It’s calcium oxalate.

Sometime later I had a bollocks issue and went to the urologist and told him that story, so they put me on the X-Ray in the office. I had a constellation of them. Like sixteen.

I asked him what I should do. Get them removed? He said “Meh. They’re 3mm and smaller. You’ll just pass them.”

And so I do. Usually by surprise, like this one.

  1. Good GOD, Man. I’m both cringing and amazed. Having been down that road myself and been in abjectly debilitating pain from it the only conclusion I can draw is your system is like old school plumbing. Made from Ductile Iron!

Calcium Oxalate is oft attributed to the drinking of copious quantities of sodas like Coke, Pepse… all those sorts of insalubrious imbibables.

Since they don’t seem to trouble you I suppose(?) you can just roll with it?

I dunno… I made changes. Biggest being I eschew any sodas with HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) and opt for “Real” sugars.

What’s interesting is that this thing appears very smooth and polished. The “stones” I’ve had the pleasure of breeding looked like they belonged on the surface of a sanding belt or grinding wheel. Perhaps that is why they’re not causing you too much _discomfort_?

    Well DONE!
