Last weekend I had the pups at the park. It was a stunningly beautiful morning. Crisp, with dew on the grass.

Lots of stuff to sniff…

The trails smelled of leaves that you smell in the fall. Lots of critters were out and about.

Most of the summer, that grass was dead, brown with a bit of green mixed in. One long weekend of rain and all the green came back. That’s how it is in Texas. During a long hot summer like we had, things go dormant and then wake up in the fall, and we get a break. It’ll be mostly like this for the next few months until we get a cold snap. That’s when our fall gets serious.
Monday was a holiday. It was another super nice day so I set aside one of my rules. I generally don’t get on the bike if I’m not 100%. But I set that aside that rule an headed out on the bike for some twisty therapy. I’ve been off and on sick for a few weeks. But I felt good enough to hit it.
Made all the difference. Can’t wait until it gets cooler.
Sometimes being force-fed fresh air at speed is the best medicine. It’s been cooler here as well. Was able to pop the top on the Miata for a few trips and it’s utterly salubrious.
Ride SAFE!
