Vox Smacks a Hornet’s Nest

Vox Day added a substack to his repertoire.

The sit is named ‘Sigma Game’. He started it because he’s had a lot of call for a book on the sociosexual heirarcy. (SSH)

The SSH is simply a mechanism to figure out who you are dealing with when encountering a dude. A woman’s one would be enneagram. I once attended a lecture on this (with the X-herself). To say the crowd was rather gyno-centric is an understatement. Her friend Debbie the Apostate was there. We had to endure her for lunch.

I think Vox’s SSH is a better way to understand guys.

That said, one of the pieces was on women cutting their hair short, and when one of their friends suggests they’d look great or it’s ‘cute’, they are trying to cull the competition, even if it’s subconscious.

The point of it all was that men prefer long hair.

On the page they had images. Behold:

I’m sorry. I don’t find the short hair woman attractive whatsoever. Best I could say about her is “handsome”. Not a great compliment.

The piece itself is interesting enough. What was the best part was the hornet’s nest of comments.

Consider the woman who has thick curly or wavy hair, for instance. She lives in a humid climate. Summer weather is exceptionally arduous. It’s necessary to wash her hair frequently due to the heat & perspiration. It costs her an absolute FORTUNE in hair products to maintain a long hair style. And it never looks good for more than an hour, before the steamy weather ruins all the work she put into styling her long locks.

A commenter

The comment was clearly from a woman, which you can tell from some of the back and forth in the comments. There’s some funny stuff there. So much so he did a follow up piece.

To pull short hair off, you need to be fit and objectively beautiful. What I notice on short hair women is it can make their head look big (Saw a woman like that after I read this piece), and takes your attention off her face and onto elsewhere, like hips. Sorry, if you have a few pounds it makes you look heavier. I’ve said this to more than one woman; A guy will find something likes about you (especially if he thinks he has a chance). Make it your face and hair. To me, that woman with short hair above looks like I’d think her head was too big for her body.

I notice these things.

What was funny in all the arguing is a simple truth, men (for the most part) prefer long hair. As far as the woman commenter above goes – you could put your hair in a pony tail. Guys aren’t that picky. We notice the long hair. We don’t really notice the styling.

I asked the Girlfriend why she didn’t butch up her hair like other women her age (I was joking) and her response was “oooh…I don’t want to look like a man!” She was as mystified as me why a woman would do that to themselves. BTW, she has a few extra pounds on her. But the first thing I noticed when I met her was her hair and face. Her eyes were next. When I discovered she is extremely feminine, well, it pretty much made me a goner.

I wouldn’t have given her a second look if she had short hair.

Sorry girls. Us guys are simple that way.
