Shouldn’ta Done IT

Last week I veered off my diet, big time, and am paying the price.

Men’s club at Church had Pasta Monday night. It was good so I over did it.

Wednesday was a team social zoom meeting, so I got Starbucks macha latte.

Then I had a meeting in the evening, so I was hungry after and cooked more pasta.

Pasta and dairy are things I eat very little. So I spent Friday bloated and miserable.

No. More. Pasta.

I will fast a bit this weekend.

  1. Oy… Pasta is one of those _comfort_ foods that can turn around and bite you in the arse when overdone. There are alternative pastas but they’re just not quite the same. Whole grain pastas that are like… well… grainy… and just don’t have the mouth feel (an actual technical term in the organoleptic realm).

    White stuff…. bleached flower, white rice… pure unadulterated starches and carbs.

    It’s a damn shame that stuff is so tasty. It can cause pain, inflammation, bloating, lethargy… You name it.

    A fast is a good idea. A cleanse of sorts.

    Speaking of pain affliction and discomfort I’m losing my mind… farking pain… Can’t sleep… move… DO much of anything useful or enjoyable.

    The PLAN is Surgery (Fusion C3 to T1) on 7 December however the monkey wrench recently thrown in THAT plan is a new and exciting diagnosis of “Subclinical Hyperthyroidism”.

    That MUST be controlled prior… otherwise… no surgery.

      1. The warranty has run out. Parts are failing. On the positive side, the Endocrinologist said that with this condition, had I NOT lost the weight over the last year I WOULD BE diabetic at this point and super high risk for A-fib and stroke.

        Again, I wonder where are all those annoying calls “We’ve been trying to reach you about extending the warranty on your CARCASS….”|

        I bet that becomes a thing some day.
