I’ve seen this floating around quite a bit:

At the Tom Thumb I frequent, the carts can be found in these concrete holders in the parking lot. It’s rare that one is loose in the wild.
But the WalMart near me? Fuggeddaboutit. Carts everywhere. And just not in the lot, discarded at the bus stop, or up the street, even in my alley a block away.
And Ghetto Kroger, just the same. Carts everywhere. It’s so bad there that they put RFID brakes on the wheels so that if a cart strays to far, it locks up.
Sad.
