Gearing up for the weekend

It’s been a busy week and will be a busy weekend. Low effort ramble incoming.

I’m still struggling with this ear infection. It’s better, but not where it needs to be. My body seems to hate cold medicine and decongestants. I had a doctor friend suggest Zirtec-D, saying it should clear things right out. It didn’t really. It made me feel funky, and at the end of the day, far worse. Sudafed does that as well.

Still, ear notwithstanding, I managed a few decent rides on the motorcycle, and since I had Wednesday evening free, got in two workouts and two runs. Getting back to the weights was absolutely punishing. Each night, I’m crushed. Each morning, I feel good though. Sort of makes it worth it.

It was supposed to start raining last night, and then last to Sunday, so I hustled like a champion, cleaning my gutters, pulling in some of my plants (for the coming cold front), and throwing fertilizer down. You know, man stuff. I’d hoped to mow the front but I fertilized instead. So, no mowing until next week.

It doesn’t look that bad. The pasture grass I planted has stalks with seeds on them. That’s what’s tall. The rest hasn’t grown.

No needless to say, I was toast and became catatonic in front of the tube until time to crawl to bed.

But happy. It’s that happy you get because I got the place ready for the rain. So I can sit on the patio and watch it without the gutters overflowing. Happy that I could use a blower on the dried leaves instead of scooping out wet and smelly ones.

Didn’t work out that way. It barely sprinkled all night. By morning walk time, it was just a hit or miss drizzle. Just enough to not go walking with the pups. Then it stopped. I walked the dogs in the afternoon, which was a treat.

They absolutely hated kids on skateboards and scooters.

Aria doesn’t appear to like mooslims much either. I was walking them in the park when we happened on a woman in a burka with a small boy. Now, I’ve had them come up on all sorts in the park. They sniff a bit, wag their tails, and let the people pet them. Not this kid. Aria took one whiff from about two feet away and snarled at him. Sniff Sniff…RARRRF!

Maybe he had shitty pants. Who knows.

I have to head out to cook at Church in a minute. I’ll be back at the crack of dawn for bible study, followed by a meeting. Sunday, I cook early again. No sleeping late for me. No doubt, I’ll get back home each morning, fart around and then nap most the afternoon. Depends on how I feel. This shit’s been going on over a month.

It’s far better.

I’ll find out what’s going on next week, when I follow up with the ENT.
