We had a blast of nice warm days. It was glorious. I started my skin toughening routine:
I sit out 15 minutes front, 15 minutes back every day to get a base tan. Why? So when it’s intense, I don’t wind up with sunburns when I exercise or simply walk to the store from my car. It’s pretty intense here. A couple errands, you’ll get a burn, especially if you aren’t wearing a hat on your bald noggin.
I saw one of these memes on Facebook, and it didn’t have The Pollening, which is what’s happening now. Gets all over the truck. It has my lungs and sinuses protesting. Clumps of this crap on the street:
Last weekend it was pretty hot, and knuckleheads were all around. While walking the dogs I got passed by a couple on Harleys. Loud as hell. The old lady had apehangers, the dude, a normal Harley (I can’t tell them apart) with the radio blasting rap music.
They weren’t black.
They also couldn’t lean, far as I could tell as they turned on a side street, then again at the end of the block. I ran into many such cases all day – Harleys. Loud. Slow. Riding like they were in a car. Then, there were a fair number of these:
A trike. The old lady on back. Going 10 mph under the speed limit. When we stopped at the light, I noticed he had a no-shit sippy cup in a holder on his handlebar. This is why they get run off the road or hit. Slow. Distracted. Not paying attention. There were trikes like this, and a few of those dopey Can-Ams mixed in with the rest of the non-driving fools.
This dude in the picture slowed down, way down, on the curves. The curves that I hit practically at the speed limit in my monster truck. Trikes have all the risk and none of the tools to avoid it. I’m guessing they only show up when the weather is perfect. I’ve only seen one or two since I moved down here over a year ago. Now? 5-6 on a Saturday? Tells me they don’t spend enough time on it to be proficient.
Really, get a convertible.
In any event, we’ll have a few months of this. Then, the furnace will be turned on for a few.
