Aria had her surgery yesterday.
They had her all day “to watch”. But in reality, I think they forgot to call me until nearly 5 PM.
She was ready to go home.

She’s supposed to keep this thing on for ten days. At least the Vet said I could take it off if she was with me, and I could make sure she doesn’t mess with her stitches. So when I got home, I took it off so she could eat.
When she was done, she had her drink from the toilet, and got up into my bed. I figured, I can’t watch her while I’m in the kitchen so I put the lampshade back on. I headed back to cook my dinner. A few minutes later, I went to check on her, and she was sitting there just like I left her:

She won’t lay down with it one. This ain’t good.
So I took it off. I’ll keep an eye on her, I thought. Besides, I got a talk about not being worried that she’d spend the next 48-72 hours mostly sleeping.
Really?
As I type this (Tuesday night) she’s out patrolling. She’s been orbiting around checking every inch of her domain for the last two hours. Catching up, I suppose.
Whatever. It’s set to rain all day tomorrow until Friday sometime, so I expect she’ll be loafing around. I’ll mind her tonight. I need to teach tomorrow night, so she’ll have to wear it when I’m gone. I’ll have to shut the door, since I don’t want her trying to get out of the dog door with that thing on. I bought her a soft one (like I was forced to do with Jasper, wish I could find that thing). Should be here today.
The vet said she did real well, and snapped back from the anesthesia quickly. Her eye looks great. No more growth sticking out. She appears back to normal. Also, they trimmed her nails while she was under, which is awesome. She hates to have her feet touched, let alone her nails did. They also expressed her anal glands. Ok, I guess that’s good. She’s never needed it. But…ok. I’ll take it.
I give it a day until she runs from me if she sees the cone coming out.
