Now that the Texas blast furnace is over for the season, working out has become a pleasure.
It really is nice to finish a run or bike ride without the flop sweats. So now my attention is turning back to diet, especially since the holiday season is upon us.
I spend a lot of time listening to podcasts as I work. I usually catch all of Joe Rogan’s episodes, unless he has some uber nerd that feeds his space alien fourth dimension fetish. With a lot of guests, he’ll inevitably wind up talking fitness. Personally, I think he does a bit too many supplements, but the man is fit. You have to give him that.
On one of these podcasts he got into supplements and talked about bit about creatine. Seemed like it might be worthwhile. So I did my own research and reckoned it was worth a shot. So I got me some gummies.

That O’Keefe’s is for my dried out noggin, by the way. If I don’t scrub it with an exfoliant and moisturize it, I get a scaly nasty dry skull. No bueno.
In any event, I’ve been at these daily for about two weeks. They appear to work as advertised. When I lift, it’s just as hard, but not as painful. I’m able to push through a set easier, especially if I’ve added weight. I’ve been adding muscle slowly but surely, so the jury is still out on that claim. One of the things it does well is make recovery far easier. After about a week, I noticed that I wasn’t suffering at night. Usually as the day ends, I get pretty sore. So much so that I’ll wave off riding the hot rod bike if I have to go somewhere. Last week, that didn’t happen. So in addition to a better, more efficient workout, I didn’t suffer whatsoever at night, making me wonder if I didn’t push myself hard enough during the day.
I’ve also noticed that I’m a bit more focused and clearheaded. I don’t get stuck with doom loops about the past spinning in my head and have been more focused on the future things I have to get done, and where I need to go.
We’ll see what happens in the long run. For now, looks like they are worth it.
