Fall is Coming

At least to Texas, anyhow.

The mornings have turned glorious. Cool, not chilly, with the sun reflecting off the dew on the fields.

Soon, I’ll be able to walk the pups in the morning without having to put on a light wicking shirt and returning with it sweaty. I can don my Timberlands, so my feets won’t get wet when walking across the fields.

Since the furnace is off, and it’s 90 degrees, tops, during the day, my pepper plants have started producing again. They stop when it’s brutally hot.

Fall isn’t as drastic here as it is in the north. We get some leave coloring. But mostly they turn yellow or olive drab and fall off. What we get is cool mornings and sunny, dry, 80 degree days. California weather, really.

It’ll be time for a motorcycle trip next month, for sure.

One more month before holiday season starts rolling around. I work only three weeks each month – November and December.

Can’t wait.

  1. Good for you, Sir! Here? Nope. 95 and the Scrotal Adhesion Factor was off the scale yesterday. As usual. November. That’s usually when we get relief here in SW FL.
