Funny stuff, this Trump takeover of law an order in DC:
I love the shrill white karens squawking about black men here. Like he said, she ain’t been black a day in her life. The beginning with the retired UPS driver is epic. No bragging, just appreciation for the ability to go downtown without thugs and silliness.
The vibrant indigenous population seems not to care, or find it a great thing:
Couple things here:
I will say that when I worked in DC, there was a lot of bullshit and crime. But a lot of areas, like Anacostia, were full of normal people just working and trying to get by. These are the folks that have to endure the shenanigans. One of the techs that worked for me back in the day had enough and moved from NW DC a mile or two north to Silver Spring MD. It was the snow storm I mentioned in my last piece that did it. Dude couldn’t get to work since Hizzoner never bothered to have to little peoples streets plowed.
The whitey Karens and soy bois protesting don’t have to live with the thuggery day in and out. I would not be surprised whatsoever, to learn that Karen travels from Northern VA or Bethesda to protest.
And… if you don’t count the crimes, or change the actual crime – like from burglary to shoplifting, it makes your crime stats look better.
They cook the books and the locals know it.
Here’s a glimpse of how the city works:
Back in the day, we had a Chevy Astro. Herself t-boned a black dude in a new car that ran a stop sign in Arlington. He has beside himself that he got a ticket, not her. She hit him after all. So the van had to go in and get a new front end. We got it back, sparkling.
Fast forward a week or two, and she was in DC picking up work (She worked for herself then). Paused to look at her cell phone and took her foot off the brake. She was parked behind a DC cop. She rolled into the cop car. Mortified, she got out of the van to talk in with the black woman cop, who waved her off. She didn’t know what to do.
Turns out the cop called an ‘officer down’ call. In short order, The wife was surrounded by cops wondering what the hell went on. She showed the sergeant the brand new bumper without a scratch on it.
The cop filed a claim with our insurance, and sued us. I’m sure it went nowhere. I talked with a rep and she said they fight these kind of suits like honey badgers.
So including the crime, that’s how it works. Like a carribean island. Actually, I think that isn’t fair, I think DC is worse.
