The Big Show

Happy MLK Day!

Big deal, huh? Another day off. Good for me. I have things to do today such as clear out my storage unit up in Plano and pick up the dogs heartworm meds. It’s also cold as hell.

So I’ll more than likely miss the big show – the inauguration. Maybe I listen to it on the local Newstalk station, rather than the podcasts I usually listen to as I amble around.

Biden gave a farewell speech. Did anyone hear it? I sure didn’t. Who cares what that demented old fool has to say. From what I gather, it was the petty idiotic rambling of the kind we’re used to. Good riddance. Kunstler said it best:

So, adios, “Joe Biden,” you miserable, treasonous bastard. History will record you as the one president so far who was consciously a villain outright, in true self-knowledge of his own wickedness. You left your country a wreck in every dimension: in national security, national bankruptcy, national pride, and national confidence. Go back to Delaware and sit in the dim light of your room with the curtains drawn so you won’t have to hear about the gruesome discoveries to come of what you left behind. And when the day arrives for your funeral, be advised that it will not be much better than your campaign stop in Darby, PA, in June 2020, when you maundered pointlessly to a nearly empty room. . . before going out for ice cream with your secret service detail. – James Howard Kunstler

Today, grownups take charge. Will they do anything? Who knows. At least the ‘loot the treasury’ phase of our change in power will stop and hopefully be undone.

We’ll see. Me? I have things to do.
