Been a busy week, as usual. We had a ‘cold front’ come through that knocked the temperature down from 100+ to low 90s. It was glorious. It’s tough running at 100 degrees. I’ve over done it every day this week and wound up sore each night.
I saw a post on that useless NextDoor app, that I didn’t think to capture. Asian dude looking for life insurance, prefers an Asian broker. No shit. Wonder what would happen if I posted looking for something, preferring a hu-white dude. Pfft!….everyone can be racist and sexist but white guys.
There are always those in a mania who tell you “this time its different.” Its never different; a sustainable economy always must have the average person able to afford the average thing, and by the way the use of average rather than median to try to deceive you is common as well. If there are 10 people with alleged jobs, one has a million dollar a year paycheck and the other nine $10,000 nine out of ten are starving to death; they do not in fact have $109,000 in income each and thus are all ok which the “average” would claim. Thus the use of “average” only is valid if there are no extreme outliers — but of course there usually are. – Denniger
No shit. I don’t cook a whole lot and my grocery bill is usually 60-80/week.
I’ve been following a car guy whose dealership is way low on the food chain – basically, he serves the beater markey $5k and lower. He tours dealer lots fat with 80K+ trucks they can’t unload. The average Jeep wagoneer he shows is nearly 100K. For a dodge? fuuuuck. BTW, he can’t keep cars in his lot. That shows where the market is going.
What’s going now isn’t sustainable in any way, shape, or form. It’ll correct, and when it does, expect a fisting.
We are in the age of incompetence. I get mail for my neighbors. Dude across the street got my amazon delivery, I got his. At my last house the fedex dude was dyslexic. My house was 1101. I’d routinely get packages for 1110. How many times does your order get messed up? Lately, I have to tell the waitress to put ice in my ice tea.
Turns out BLS is 818K off with new job numbers. No shit. Again, they are either horribly incompetent or they are doing it on purpose. I’m going with the latter. The U-3 number they bandy about is bullshit. The u-6 number is more accurate. But the most accurate is labor participation, which this month is 62% or so. Contemplate that; Only a little over half of the country that could be working is.
This brings up something called, “dead internet theory”, which if you put that into a search engine, lands you at a wiki page that claims it is “an online conspiracy theory that asserts that the Internet now consists mainly of bot activity and automatically generated content manipulated by algorithmic curation to intentionally manipulate the population and minimize organic human activity.”
We live in an age where the internet giants brag about how their algorithms control what people see, yet the main online encyclopedia calls it a conspiracy theory. In other words, a simple search on the term “dead internet theory” provides you with proof that the theory is largely correct. The richest man in the world said the platform he bought for fifty billion dollars was mostly bots, but it is a conspiracy theory. – Zman
It’s either bots or Romanian content farmers. Most of what I read is bullshit.
The fact the most popular political figure in modern history is seemingly locked in death battle hoping to squeak out a razor thin margin win against some broad that could easily be anyone behind the counter at the DMV, SHOULD tell you all you need to know about the legitimacy and long term future of United States Federal politics- Joe Prich on Gab
Speaking of which, every big ideal I’ve heard Cackles McSidechick say could be answered by asking why she hasn’t done it yet. It takes some serious cognitive dissonance to say how you are going to fix the economy and fight for people as if you haven’t been driving the bus four years. From what I’ve seen, she’s done diddly and squat.
The democrats were literally bitching about the last four years as if they weren’t in power.
What’s up with Politicians and their cheap assed suits?

Lookit Tim Walz here in his wash-n-wear hobo suit. Looks like its’ made of office chair upholstery, with a cut like a woman’s pantsuit. When McCain debated Obama I thought the same thing about McCain’s suit. Same weird blue color that looked like 100% polyester.
Look at doofus here, with a taste for my bell peppers:

Dammit! Heard him crunching on something a couple days after I caught this, went to investigate, and he was munching on a bell pepper the size of a racquetball that I hadn’t noticed on my plants yet. I wondered why he came back
He has yet to touch the jalapenos or banana peppers.
Whatever happened to the Hawk Tuah girl?
Dammit!

I’d have bought that! I’m not on Facebook every day, so I missed it.

This is known as ‘the drawer of requirement’.
Aria’s new thing:

We have to inspect every last drain in the park.
As if we don’t need to check out every storm drain on the way and back.
Like one in a hundred times she comes upon a cat in the sewer.
It’s enough to have her check every one. For years.

“H-D actually stands for Hound Dog, because they both love riding around in the back of pickup trucks and they both leave puddles where they ain’t supposed to.” Mike @ cold fury
It’s not leaking, it’s marking my space.

Yeah. No. Everyone wants the annuity. That said, it’s been a minute since I’ve had a logitech anything. I can get a mouse on Amazon for like $6, why would I buy her shit?

All I got. It’s going to be a busy weekend, at least the start of it.
I didn’t used to look forward to weekends as much as I do now. They start Thursday night, when I’m writing this. I’ve had a good week working, and working out. The lawn is mowed. The house is clean. I wrap things up for the week, and end up with a sense of accomplishment.
Instead of heading south to the Woman’s, I promised to do Papa duty and watch the grandkids. Going to be wild. Best I can do is keep them from killing themselves. We’ll see. I think I’ll hit wally world and score some hotwheels track. Always a hit.
Accuweather just ran a segment on temperatures compared to normal for some cities. Somaliapolis, 3 hours to my south, hit a high of 91° twice this summer, and J-J-August have been running 2+° cooler.
Last couple days have been high in the high 60s, the ash, maple and Balm of Gilead trees are turning and dropping leaves, and the sky and weather are a month advanced.
We had heavy dandelions in early May and usually have to mow them all year, then we passed 9 degrees above the galactic plane and got all the solar flares and no more dandelions. No Creeping Charlie blooming, but a whole lot of wildflowers in the yellow range like Goldenrod, Brown-eyed Susans, wild sunflowers and sunflowers from any bird feeders. Right now the 11 dandelion flowers in a half-acre view stick out in the grass and clover.

Things have been changing and are speeding up. I hope it’s not snowing next month, or that’ll make the freezing-up of this empire literal.
