Funny drunkblogging SOTU commentary from Stephen Green:
Here he comes. Eyes wide open for the first time in months, spring in his step… he’s wired to the tits on whatever they have him on.
Wow. This is bad. Forget the content, which is just weird for a SOTU intro. The delivery is rushed, shouted, and filled with spit.
Jeebus. He’s so jacked up, he navigates a sentence like a 16-year-old boy unhooking his first bra
As speeches go, this wasn’t one — just a grab bag of random stuff, arranged in no particular order, with no dramatic sweep, and delivered with all the grace of a spider monkey on Red Bull.
As a campaign event, it might have inspired the dedicated, but if you were worried about Biden’s fitness… you’re more worried now than you were two hours ago.

I didn’t watch it, myself. Apparently I’m not the only one:
I’m not the only one – A wide majority of Americans, 63 percent, said according to the latest Economist/YouGov survey they will not watch the speech. So, while official Washington and the establishment media are consumed with Biden’s likely ability to read from a teleprompter for about an hour, most Americans like Vance could care less what the aides who wrote the speech that Biden is going to read wanted him to say.”
A 737 erupts in flames over Texas. And then this:
This seems to be happening more and more. For some reason, it seems that it’s usually United. They used to be my go-to airline. Then they became ’employee owned’ and went down the shitter. I think it’s a toxic mix of DEI and the general lack of competence these days.
Ozempic appears to be the miracle weight loss drug. It’s actual purpose is for the Diabeetus. Heard dudes on the radio talking about it. It’s not what it seems. Apparently, it really bothers your guts. These dudes were on it for the diabeetus. The point is that we’re always looking to avoid the work it takes to do anything (like lose weight) and drug companies are only too happy for you to take their drugs for the rest of your life. With a lot of these drugs, when you stop taking them, you wind up right back where you would’ve been had you done nothing. I new a dude that spent a tone of dough on Rogaine to keep hair on his noggin. I wonder if you’ve been taking this for weight loss and decide you don’t need it, if you blow up real fast like Violet Beauregard on Will Wonka.
Do the work. I’ve lost over 90 lbs by simply eating right and exercising four times a week.

It took two years. I’ve had fits and starts
We have to endure a generation of gaslighting bigots:
We are nurturing a sub-culture with no connection whatsoever to anything resembling decency, decorum, or even a modicum of intelligence. In five thousand years of human evolution, we’ve finally come full circle, with low-brow (media-promoted) troglodytes, once again howling at a (digital) moon.
Watching Biden cultists twist themselves into rhetorical knots, trying to make undeniable facts, that we can all witness with our own eyes and ears, go away. They just redefine the words to what ever they want. That is the dismal future of this formerly great Republic under the current Totalitarian Dictatorship. To them, any act, no matter how disgusting, reprehensible or immoral, is justified if it helps you achieve political power.

I think the funniest one is Karine Jean-Pierre . She’s just like Squealer from Animal Farm. “Why dearest leader is hale and hearty as ever. Why just last week he ran a marathon” In between screwing stuff up, no doubt. They aren’t delusional. They are evil. In a just world her and Biden would get pelted with rotten fruit when they utter one word at the podium.
Myself? I used to ask my lefty friends just what has dear leader done other than ignite inflation? I don’t and won’t bother any longer. They aren’t right in the head, clearly. So who gives two shits what they have to say?
I’ve been “out of the game” for more than thirty years, so I don’t really know what it’s like to be unwillingly unmated. I do know that there are a lot of men, from young adults all the way up to my age and beyond, who are either in that category or in an even more painful one: mated to a woman who’s turned cold and indifferent toward them. The search for a woman’s love – real love, the sort that provides him the physical affirmation and emotional sustenance he needs when he needs it – has become a truly agonizing feature of male Americans’ existence.

I know three men, at least, that live lives of near solitude with the wife still in the house. Even more whose wives, like mine, ditched them in their late 50s. A dozen maybe?
In great part, that agony stems from the twisting of American women’s psyches. Forces have converged on American women that have warped them into a unique variety of solipsism. The majority of them are psychologically wrapped around themselves as “victims,” “oppressed,” “underappreciated,” “marginalized,” et cetera ad nauseam infinitam.

I don’t know about that, I’m not a woman. But it certainly seems plausible. I was listening to Abigail Shrier on Rogan’s podcast, who turns a jaundiced eye towards therapists. Can’t say I disagree. The one time I’ve been, the dude was useless. You see, if the dude is meeting with the missus, can you give mister a clue as to what the problem is?
I was at a retreat once where the priest said “You know how many guys come to me and say “Father- she’s my soulmate! she’s my soulmate!…Bullshit! She’s’ hot, your horny. Go back to your wife” I don’t think any of these women’s therapists would ever say such a thing. Pity.
Vox hit a nerve on Sigma Game. He rarely comments, but when he does it’s usually on target. Then he stops and the commenters tried.
Support your Boss. Leadership positions are hard. Take as much off your boss’s plate as you can. If your boss is an egomaniac and wants all the credit for everything you and your team do, give them credit. Make the boss look good. This isn’t brown-nosing. It’s building good relationships and leading up the chain of command. Good followership is a critical aspect of leadership. To be a good leader, you must also be a follower. This might require you to execute things the way your boss wants to see them done. If someone goes wrong, own it and fix it. That’s step number four in how to deal with a bad boss.

I can agree with this, having been a boss. I was chatting with my brother awhile back who told me that when was mentoring a newbie, told them “You see that guy over there? (his boss), it’s my job to make him look good.” Indeed. Sage advice. I remember when I started in telecom, I’d call my boss for help. Bad move. He said so. So I called other techs or support when I was stuck. I had one boss tell me “Why are you calling me? I know where I sent you. Call me if you are out of work or in trouble.”
I was simply checking in, like I had to do in my old company.
That piece was spawned by the previous one where Vox offered some indispensable advice:
“…but I don’t mind summarizing that one extremely important piece of advice here for everyone.
Shut. The. Fuck. Up.
Seriously. In many situations, if not most, that’s literally all that’s required! Just don’t talk. That’s all you need to do.”

Shuddup and listen.
Nikolai contemplates immortality:
What if the life extension measures mean old people can work longer?
First, I wonder if they would want to. Who could teach kindergarten or roof houses until they are 300?
Nikolai Vladivostok
No Shit. I’m only 60 or so and I’m sick of working.
“Picture trying to work with mandarins who’ve had a century to build their networks and satrapies. A century’s worth of favours owed, grudges nursed, biases ingrained, and habits reinforced.
Even a brilliant young person would achieve nothing in this environment.”
The line is Age and Guile will beat youth and skill every time. BTW doesn’t have to be a century. As anyone knows, in a large established corporation, your retirement eligible geezer directors will maneuver to save their fief no matter what. I’ve seen it, even today in my company. IT is starting to melt. My dentist used to be in IT. He made a point to ask how I was doing, being in tech and all. He has clients suffering. I’m fine, for now I guess. There’ll be a lot of stabbed backs in the months ahead. I’ll bet there’ll be a culling in June, at the end of the fiscal year. Hope I’m not in it. I need to move south of here. Once I get that in motion, I won’t care one way or another.

12 years old? 12 going on 30

Awww….

Aww…
What is best in life?:

When that happens, it’s like God opened the heavens and said “This is my son, with whom I’m well pleased.
Got the new media center (radio) in the dash this week. It’s fantastic. It mirrors my iPhone on it’s display:

One of many signs that you are no longer in Kansas, Dorothy.
No matter where I’m at, my buddy is there:

All I got. Have a good weekend.
