It’s been a hectic week. I needed to get a few things done for work, since I took Thursday and Friday off. When I requested the PTO, I thought I’d have to move. Well, that didn’t happen. So I’ve been packing. My goal here is to be able to move, maybe after new years, without drama.
This has been the first week back biking and running after clobbering my shoulder. It’s been tough, but good. I’m at a point where if I don’t exercise, I don’t sleep all night.
I had a cardiologist appointment this week. What he found was that stress or none, my heart is in fine shape. Matter of fact, since I kicked up fitness a notch, my EKG looks even better. There was some thing that was there that is no longer there. Has a big name. Don’t remember what it was.
Get Fit. Get out of Debt. Learn to live simply.
I’m 2/3 so far. I’m hoping that early next year, I’m there.
Back to the cardiac center. Man, there are a lot of old people there. The lobby smelled of old people BO. You sign in, then the give you a section to sit. A nurse or assistant shows up. Mutters a name. Looks for a minute. Then hollers the name. I dunno, place is full of old people. They should start by hollering.
What cash for Clunkers was about from Eric Peters. That program wiped out the beater market, and doubled the price of modest older cars. I was looking for one at the peak of that idiocy, and I paid nearly double what I wanted to pay, and what I had paid in the past for a hoopty. What’s funny is some of the car fixup channels I watch, these people spend thousands for a rusted out hulk with no motor. I saw one where they bought a ’67 mustang that had no motor, and mostly no floor. Dude says he’ll need $5k for it. I’d have told him to piss up a rope.
Eric Peters burns what’s left of the rubber off his vintage Trans AM. That’s how you do it. Tires need replacement, may as well enjoy what’s left. What made me nostalgic was the deep bass grumble of that 455. You just need displacement to make that happen. A 2.0 turbo four banger won’t cut it. That’s what I like about the V10 that’s in my truck. It’s got a really satisfying sound.
“The Ukraine debacle is a microcosm of what plagues the West. The people in charge are long on credentials that are meaningful only within the artificial reality that is the managerial class. The result is an echo chamber populated with credentialed idiots who compete with one another to produce the most pleasing sounding narrative to describe what they imagine lies outside their reality. They live in a simulation but seek to impose what they experience on the world around them.
These are the same people now operating the court system based on their paranoid fantasies about invisible enemies and staffing the air traffic control system to match their image of the inclusive society. What lies ahead for the West is what we are seeing in Ukraine which is the fantasies of a delusional and deranged ruling class smashing into the reality of the world, all paid for by the common man. Reality is that thing that does not go away when you stop believing in it.”
The Zman
The problem today is the people in charge believe their own bullshit. Just this week I was listening to Joe Rogan and his guest was singing from the bullshit hymnal. I don’t get how you sing the praises of the Ukraine military when there are hours of video with burning NATO tanks, and dead women and old dudes in the trenches. My observation of the rah rah Ukraine crowd is that they get their information from people that lie to them. The proof is out there. Those with eyes ought to see, I guess.
Apparently a vibrant, who should have been expelled from the country, stabbed kids in Ireland. The Irish are getting fed up and Conor McGregor, the MMA champ, has been letting the ‘leaders’ have it. They are asking the leadership to fix their mistake. Soon, they’ll stop asking and you’re going to see idiot politicians with blown out kneecaps. Those with ears ought to hear, I guess.
From GunFree Zone:
“Social media made y’all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it.”
Mike Tyson
This right here.
They are bold because, like the butterbean in the story, they’ve never felt the consequences. They are coming. Back in the day we knew better. We knew that if we cheesed someone off, a smack in the face was coming. Back in the day, those oafs harassing this old woman would’ve been handled.
From what I understand, all three employees involved were fired. As well they should be.
That’s all I got.
I’ll be house hunting this weekend down south.
