Merry Thanksgiving!
Not everyone everywhere celebrates the day, but they should. It’s good to take stock and thank God for our lives.
This has been a miserable year. I won’t bother with any of the bad things which are considerable.
But I am Thankful.
- I have a roof over my head and food in my belly
- I’m fit, and getting more so. I’ve lost 70 lbs since this time last year.
- I have three great kids, who’ve grown into amazing, responsible adults.
- I have four funny grand-kids that wear me out just watching them.
- I have a fantastic family (the one I grew up with)
- I have a group of friends that is unequalled and super supportive.
- I have two cool dogs that I love, even if one is learning disabled.
- I have a good job. My company treats it’s employees well, and were exceedingly patient with me through my miserable summer.
I’ve been unbelievably blessed this month. You cannot even imagine.
Hell, I’m even thankful for Herself on some level. She’s the mother of my children and we had at least thirty years that were happy, most of which very happy. Maybe before Christmas, or at least in the new year we can talk and reach some sort of detente, if just for the kids and grandkids sake. We’ll see. I’m open to it. I’ve been so since she bugged.
I’m due to be over at my eldest’s to celebrate. We aren’t doing Turkey, I’m told. I’m good with that. I’m not a fan, unless it’s the dark meat. The white meat is way too hard to eat for me. I’m bringing dirty rice and a surprise desert.
So have a Great Thanksgiving and be grateful for something, FFS.
