I did my monthly weigh in last week, thinking my weight would’ve gone up since I had an hernia fixed and haven’t been doing much for working out, other than walking dogs.
I clocked in at 206, losing 6 lbs by doing mostly nothing. I’ve lost nearly 70 lbs and my pants are falling off again. I’ve done this once before, but not to this scale. I’ll probably hit 180-190 before it’s all over.
This week I’m back to the full route on the bike, and started running again. But slowly. It was only 4 sprints before my belly was telling me it was time to stop. I don’t want to screw it up, so I’ll take my time.
Get fit. Get out of debt. Learn to live simply. And buy guns and ammo while you still can. I’ve gotten three out of four, and the fourth is a small amount of time.
Seems that brother Winston has a voice.
I was in the bedroom when I heard a deep bass rumble of a growl. Winston was at the window in the other room, not liking what he was looking at. It made me smile. Damn near as good a growl as Jethro.
He’s also gotten a bark. Aria has taught him that he needs to join in when she’s letting a stranger know they aren’t wanted anywhere around here. It’s heart warming to see him get more confidence.
Better yet, I’ve been spending time south of Dallas, looking at places around Midlothian and Waxahachie, and spending time with a…friend. I took Winston first, then the both of them last weekend. They are great travel buddies and amazing house guests. Super polite, super friendly, put a lot of smiles on faces.
Last thing to deal with in the shitshow is the house, which has been on the market a week. Virtually no traffic. I think the market is softening very fast. We’ll see. My first pass at sizing up expenses is that I can probably move out. This is something I wouldn’t think much of until the low traffic. I can do it. But I don’t want to be stuck with two places for very long.

I like that Big Grrl just comes and gets me if she’s uhappy with the situation outside. I don’t like barking at all. It’s one of my most favorite things about her.
