What a week.
I’m convinced, more than ever, that powerpoint is from the evil one. And what I’m doing with it is stupid. It’s pointless to use it if where it’s going will obliterate your template. I’ll leave that there. It’s a sore subject with me. There are ways to do what needs to be done natively.
I got a snitty email from the mothership about not doing my safe environment training. I’m 30 days past it, doncha’ know. They sent an email welcoming me to the portal some time ago. So I went and logged in and it said I’m all caught up. No lessons in my queue.
They never sent an alert that this had changed. So I gutted it out and did it. The training is all the same. Anyone, anyone, anyone could be an abuser. But 90% of the time it’s someone they know and are related to. They’ll present both as facts.
I had a hernia fixed. No big deal. They moved the appointment up, got me in there even earlier, and knocked it out in a few hours. That very morning Divemedic had a post about nurses:
I had a nursing instructor tell me that REAL nurses start IV’s in the hand, and never in the crook of the elbow, because it’s uncomfortable for the patient, and movement of the elbow can cause issues with IV pumps…
Divemedic
Right on queue, the nurse tries to put the IV in my hand. Got a nice bruise for her efforts. She ended up putting it in my arm, where I told her. I’ve been stuck enough to show them where the good spots are. They almost always screwup IVs on me.
Since I should lay low for awhile, I have Wendy from Pampered Pups walking the hounds this week. Winston flexed on her a bit. He’s getting territorial. But it didn’t last. She’s now is best friend.
I’m firmly in the ‘Not my circus…” camp with the mess in Israel. They gotta do what they gotta do. Scott Ritter thinks otherwise:
All well and good to do the peace thing. Respect Palestinian sovereignty and whatnot. He’s overlooking that they did that. This is why Gaza is the way it is. Israel gave up the land there, and the west bank, for ‘peace’. All they got was trouble, misery, and death.
And what we get are the neocons banging the war drums to tangle with Iran.
Who pays for this?
That’s a rhetorical question. You and I do.
I’ve about had it with Microsoft Outlook and Teams. A few weeks ago, O365 started with ‘Try the new outlook’, ‘try the new Teams’. So I did. I can’t tell the difference with Teams. Outlook changed to a more mobile interface, which sucks on a desktop. But what’s worse, it keeps asking if I still want to use the new version. FFS, stop it!
BTW, I did that with outlook. I said screwit and went back. It gooched my views and made the old interface unusable. So much so, I went back to the new interface. I think they did that on purpose. Sure, go back. But I burned the ships down. Bastards.
As I’ve said before, I’m a fan of the book – the fourth turning. Look what I got:

I just got the sequel – The Fourth Turning is Here. Can’t wait to tuck into it. I’ll do a full report. I saw an interview with him sometime back that was fascinating.

I love that meme.
For all my cowboy’s fans, to overcome the drubbing they got last week:

It was a dumb show. He deserved what he got there…

Won’t work any worse than some of the masks I’ve seen.

And busted parts, for me anyway.
I love seeing this:

They’re buds now.
I get greeted every morning by the boy:

He’s such a good boi.
Have a great weekend. Mine will be quiet. Can’t strain the belly.
