This is what happens when your head isn’t in the game:

Knocked the gate clean off the track whilst backing out. Both wheels.
The gate weighs a ton. There’s no lifting it back. In the past I used my floor jack and rolled it back. Now, I use one of these:

Called a ‘San Angelo’ bar. It’s a 6′ 15 lb steel bar with a pointy end and a chisel end, and is one of the handiest things to have. It’ll bust up stuff with ease.
But in this case, it’ll lever the gate back on it’s tracks in a few seconds.
Far as the car goes? Meh. I’ve done it before. Just more scrape marks in the same spot.
Being human means proving it from time to time. I find the older I get the more often I seem to have to prove it.
As long as nobody gets HURT, no harm no foul. And as always, the right tool for the right job.
