I did my first of the month weigh-in.
212 lbs. I’m way past my target. That makes 60 lbs.
When I lost the initial weight, my endocrinologist said “You know those bags of cement at Home Depot, it’s like losing one of those.” To be fair, they are like 50-60lbs. So in reality, that’s what I dropped. That’s nuts when you think about it that way.
To be honest, it wasn’t that hard. I’ve lost 30 since stopping alcohol. Since I’m diligent about diet and exercise these days, I’ll bet I level off at 190 or so.
Who knows.
Feels good though.

Good man. So at approximately 7.4lbs per gallon…. that’s about 8 gallons. Another way to visualize it. 8 one-gallon milk jugs of yellow gook on the counter. Pick them up and go for a walk and see if you notice a difference. 😉 People, places and THINGS. I myself have shaved off 40 since Hurricane Ian. It all started with the “Shelter Food Diet” and I just rolled with it. Added stressors of moving, etc. and it all adds up.
It was quasi-intentional but I’m glad it happened. 175 and I could use a few more but I’m not going to kill myself at this juncture.
As to working out? Well… with the failing of the skeletal system, I’m finding myself in the “No pain, no PAIN” camp and (NOT!) looking forward to some serious surgery early December.
Of course Alcohol is just downright chock full of energy (the stuff BURNS after all) and omitting THAT from one’s intake makes a huge difference. Not to mention… it tends to be a de-motivator when it comes to activities of all sorts.
WInston looks imminently happy. That’s all I need to know as to how you’re doing. Our dogs know. And in the knowing they reflect our state of mind and spirit.
