Winston got his official collar today.

You can tell he was a stray, or even abused. He’s real squirrely when you are trying to put a collar on him. Although, he’s getting better since he now associates the leash with something fun, like walks and trips to the dog park
But I’m guessing he wasn’t bathed a lot.
He needed one, bad, when I got him and I just today got around to bringing him to Pet Supplies Plus for a bath. Had to lift him into the tub. He sat there confused and nervous the whole time. But he was rewarded when we got home with a greenie treat. Looked like he died and went to heaven.
But it was worth it. He smells good. His fur is even softer.

What a sweet boy!
They said he was skittish and may take awhile to warm up, but we’re bonding very fast.
A palate cleanser to take away the bitter taste of a divorce decree.
Uhm…. It’s a nice collar. Just something to note, when I was adopting Duke, one of the men ad the Humane Society was Ex L.E. and he strongly advised… NEVER put your dog’s name on his collar or his tag. Why? SHOULD you find that you’re in a position that someone is in possession of your dog and they are not of good intention, YOU know his name. The other party does NOT. YOU can call him by his NAME.
Your name… Your contact info. And ALWAYS have him chipped.
Something to consider. He’s awesome… and happy fluffy as is apparent.
Eventually, he’ll become so acclimated to the collar, he will become upset when you take it OFF. Duke would be like HEY!!!! That’s MINE and I want it BACK!
