*(Most People Are Idiots)

Since the Titan sub’s untimely demise, there’s been more than a few articles and blogs around about the lack of competence these days. Zman had one here today.

This is true, of course. Nearly any interaction you have in nearly any store you’ll see it.

But what I see in my daily routine has been a complete lack of common sense. For instance, when walking Aria. I’ve had kids roll down the driveway, right at me, then into the street. I’ve had dumb kids (old enough to know better) as well as older adults flat out run into me while walking their dogs. It’s customary to cross the street around here when you pass another dog walker simply to avoid drama.

The worst was a woman that was ‘fast walking’. She fast walked right up behind Aria, who snapped at her. “Geez! she said”. I kept my mouth shut. I learned decades ago when running to absolutely avoid running up to someone walking the dog. Dogs generally do not like to be surprised.

Hell, I won’t even get into what happens on the roads.

Nearly every day I see something that defies sense. Just pull up to a 4-way stop. Guaranteed the at least two in the intersection won’t know how it’s supposed to work.

Hopefully I’ll be gone before people forget how to do indoor plumbing.

  1. It’s the vax. Vaxidents happen when people driving look right through you and still turn into your space.

Civilization will last exactly as long as the power and internet stay on.
