Brilliant. Here in SW FlawDUH the abject insanity / stupidity on the roads have led to insurance rates that are making NJ look like a bunch of pikers.
I swear… the State Sport is hit and run w pedestrians / bicyclists being primary targets.
Pancake flat, arrow straight roads and we have nothing but rollovers. Followed by “Car in Canal” or “Car vs. Building”.
I’m sure a lot has to do with “Seasonal” mixing of a broad variety of driving styles from around the country, but still, the laws can’t be THAT dissimilar.
I gave up riding the motorcycle not long after moving here. Suicidal. And I’m MSF trained even.
The amount of Road Rage has amped up to the point where I now have a pepper spray system velcro attached to the dash for rapid deployment.
Glad you were on your toes. I stick to rule number one of Motorcycle Riding: Yes, you ARE invisible. It’s save me a number of times.

Good advice…. ‘cuz THEY ARE. I would also implore him to undertake any MSF courses he can. That stuff saved my sad sorry ass many a time.

He actually took one. In Texas, that MSF course counts as your road test for your license.
